Description

VCR couplings have a high purity metal-to-metal seal that provides leak-free service in the vacuum to positive pressure range.
During the engagement of the male nut or fitting body hex with the female nut, the seal on the VCR assembly is completed when the gasket is compressed by the flange on both sides.

Easy to install side load bearing shims with minimum removal clearance.

Test ports on both parts for leak testing.

Standard surface polishing on the body of the tube and fitting

The internal threads are silver plated to prevent wear and to ensure consistent assembly and construction.

The VCR fitting design has been tested for helium leakage with a maximum leak rate of 4x109stdcm3/s with silver-plated and copper gaskets and 4x109stdcm3/s with uncoated gaskets
It has a maximum leak rate of 4×10-11 stdcm3/s. It is second only to welded joints and is available with ultra-high purity cleaning options.
